About Us

The two of us & a Motorhome

Bernie

Bernie is Tasmanian where he spent all of his childhood days  walking through the bush and exploring in an around a little place called Collinsvale.***  He is a carpenter/joiner by trade and enjoys doing modifications on anything that needs fixing. His latest adventure was racing camels in the Northern Territory, where he worked as a tour guide around Uluru (Ayers Rock)***.

Charmaine

I, Charmaine was born is Sydney but lived most of my primary school days in Perth, then did high school in Brisbane. I originally studied Dental Nursing at Kangaroo Point TAFE and worked in the industry for several years. I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up…….***Our Northern Territory adventure was a great experience….. who would have thought we would get the chance at racing camels?

Getting together

We met over 10 years ago in Brisbane,*** at the time Bernie had his two kids on weekends so we would meet up for family days when we got the chance.  All the kids played well together and that’s how we slowly became good friends. It just so happen we wanted the same things out of life so the journey with the two of us continued…… How the time has flowing!*** All the kids have grown up, ***we have our bus so we are starting to prepare for our big adventure!

Our Coach

The bus is a white  Dennings Tourmaster, it was made by Austral in Queensland in 1988. It’s a 12 meter long tag axle, and for all you men asking about the engine type….It’s a:

  • Engine: Detroit Diesel 6V – 92TA
  • Power: 335 HP (250 Kw) @ 2100 RPM
  • Torque: 957 lb ft (1298 N.M) @ 1300 RPM

Where the coach came from

Des owned it and had it parked at his place at Whyalla in South Australia***, it was originally a Steel City Coaches bus that used to do the Mt Gambia run.

Dream on

Have you ever dreamed of going on your own big adventure around Australia? Love the thought of being on a permanent working holiday taking your house with you? Wondering how to start? Well come with us ….. lets experience this journey together. Who knows what we will learn along the way….***
